Introduction to Blue Vagabonds

Who are we?

Blue Vagabonds is not your average travel company. We offer ocean lovers the chance to travel to some of the most incredible and biodiverse marine landscapes on our planet, while also joining a community of like-minded adventurers who want to play their part in protecting marine life at a time when it needs us most.  

Blue Vagabonds was founded in 2025 by underwater photographer and conservationist Jono Allen. After completing his degree in environmental science, Jono realised that his true passion lay in connecting with marine life after experiencing mutual moments of curiosity with them. Something that he is extremely passionate about sharing, as it forms a key pathway to motivating people to conserve the beauty of our ocean and its inhabitants. 

In 2024, Jono was joined by investigative journalist Hannah Coogans, finding connection in their passion for marine conservation. Hannah's background includes working on wildlife trade and environmental justice issues, including shark finning and whaling. Hannah believes that connecting with wildlife is an extremely important part of conservation. 

Blue Vagabonds gives travellers the chance to have unique wildlife encounters while learning how to interact with our ocean responsibly and respectfully. Most of all we are driven by our love of adventure and of all things planet blue!

We seek to share the lessons our team has learned from countless hours underwater, from how to best capture their beauty through photography to understanding the complexities of their behaviour.
